Installing Java Plug'In

In this document we will be able to make the installation of plugin java on our web browser or called navigator.


In order to be able to make this installation we must obtain a first binary document which obtendra ours plugin programmed as these:

Once you have lowered the file.

Now on your console(tty, xterm, other):

  • To make a copy on the directory, /opt of the following way (this needs to be like super user, “root”):
cp /dir/ect/ory/jre-1_5_0_02-linux-i586.bin /opt
  • To install it in the same way, like root of course:
sh jre-1_5_0_02-linux-i586.bin
  • Next it took like text mode the installation to give Ctrl + C to the file, and in the following option, to key in “Yes” to be able to allow, to the binary file settles on our directory “opt” once installed.
  • To go to the directory of our navigator, for example for “FireFox”
cd /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins
  • Our following step consists of creating a simbolyc connection to use ours plugin on our web browser, mozilla, firefox, epiphany, or any other navigator.
ln -s /opt/jre1.5.0_02/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so libjavaplugin_oji.so

Now you can open to the navigator of your preference and power to enjoy the privileges of plugin java
