GPL (or GNU/GPL):

GNU General Public License. A software license that provides a high degree of freedom in a collaborative software development effort. A copy of the GNU/GPL license is provided with the Linux kernel source (see the file COPYING). By extension, a software package is said to be GPLed if it is placed under the GNU/GPL license.
